A bit of a milestone today … Day 100 … that’s just huge.  We had a bit of a look back over the trip tonight … over all the things we’ve done and places we’ve been.  Needless to say we don’t easily recall all the things that have happened.  We also crossed another milestone with the car the other day too.  20,000km since we left home.  We’re well passed that now though. 😉

So … since today was one of those advertised ‘perfect the next’ days, what did we choose to do for the big day?  We went to Movie World!!

Plenty has changed since last time we were here.  On our last visit the Superman ride was just starting construction.  Now its complete.

The new roller coaster under construction this time around is the Green Lantern and it looks to be upping the ante yet again.  It’s also spilled out into the car park…

Today was the last day that the Batman Adventure ride was operational too.  They’re closing that one down to turn it into something else.  Scooby Doo is still holding up well and we went on that one twice.  First time took 45 minutes, second time we walked straight on.  Lethal Weapon is showing its age.  It’s a very rough ride now.  We all got off there with sore heads from being slapped about just a little too much.  *Some* padding on the headrests would be useful now that the coaster has gotten a little rattly and ragged.  The kids went back for a second go at it though as rattling their heads together would do little damage.

The new 4D movie was “Journey to the centre of the Earth”.  This was pretty cool and got the day off to a good start with plenty of chuckles all-round.

The new stunt show also kept us guessing and was quite amusing too.  Interesting to see how they’d re-purposed the set, yet used most of the same effects in a different show.

We got to go on most rides at least twice.  We all went on Superman twice except for Kel who found suitable excuse to miss the first go.  She finally plucked up the courage to go on it, so I made sure that we got the front row seats.  Halfway thru the ride she’s yelling at me “I Love it !!!” … and to think she was ready to turn tail and miss it right up to the last minute.  If there was a gap in the crowd she woulda bolted for sure!

We ended up riding the Wild West log ride the most.  Once early on … to get saturated before lunch.  Then right on closing time we managed to get 2 rides in a row.  We just stayed seated and went around again as the last people on the ride.  That left us completely soaked to end the day.  But, its Queensland … we were dry by the time we got to the car.

BBQ steaks and chops for dinner tonight.  We also extended the booking at the park for another couple of nights.  We want a quiet day here and we’ve still got Seaworld to do too.  So 2 more nights at this stage.  I’d budgeted for 7 so if we can get away with 6, I’ll need to find something else to do.  No way we’re getting home even slightly early.
