The weather today was going to be Wet n Wild today, according to the forecast … so that’s where we went …Wet n Wild.

If you’re going to be at a theme park on a rainy day, a water park had better be it.  As luck would have it it turned out to be a pretty good day, weather wise.  It did rain once for about 10 minutes, hardly the thunderstorms predicted by the weather bureau … perhaps they shoulda kept that NEC supercomputer?

We all had fun and went on everything that was open.  A couple of the main attractions were closed ‘for maintenance’ but I couldn’t see much going on.  I think the truth is closer to ‘don’t want to pay employees’ than maintenance.  Many of the slides have got 2 halves, yet only one part was operating.  There were still plenty of people queued up to warrant operating at full capacity, yet they were happy to let us all queue.  Not very professional.

The worst culprit here was the new aqua loop slide.  There are 4 slides, yet only one was operational.  The queue time was about 20 minutes when it could have been much less even if they’d opened up a 2nd slide, if not all four.  Just not good enough really.  In terms of maintenance, all the older attractions are very much looking their age and the bells and whistles they used to have are long gone.

Enough whinging!  We all had fun and got to go on everything we wanted to more than enough times.  We would also have gone on all the rides that were closed too.  A couple of those were extra charge rides, so they missed out on an extra $100 from us today.

Favorite ride of the day was the new Surf Rider.  I think the kids went on this about 15 times.  Kel reluctantly managed once.
