Up bright and early today as we’d planned to spend the whole day in Kuta at Waterbom Park.

A quick brekky and short cab ride soon had us at the front gates of the park at about 9:30.

Hardly anybody else there at that time so we all headed over to the big slides first.  The Boomerang, The Superbowl and The Climax.

We all tackled the boomerang first and all got some air over the little jump at the end.  Kel was already freaking out, she’s just not a good rider on these sort of things.  Next up was the superbowl, which is kind of like being flushed down the loo.  Kel didn’t mind that one too much.

Then we got to The Climax, which is a sort of loop slide.  You don’t quite go upside down, but close.  Kel drew the line at this one and no amount of convincing was going to get her on it.  Every excuse possible as to why she wouldn’t do it was said.  I’m amazed that shes still alive given all the bits that hurt and how sick she feels, etc, etc…  Just a woos!

We were all getting stuck into it now and soon managed to lose the kids while we all went on the other slides: The Macaroni, Jungle Ride, Boogie Slide, Smash Down, The Racer and Raft River.  The last one always becomes a favourite towards the end of the day as it leads to the Lazy River which slowly floats you around the park.

There is also a water play area here and also a large lagoon pool with a swim up bar.  After lunch and a few more slides the pool bar became home base.  Even the kids got a mocktail.

From Waterbom we walked back towards Legian and checked out a few shops and had the mandatory stop at Poppies.  The kids eyes widened when we got there as the laneway was absolute chaos heading towards it.  Once inside though, all sights and sounds vanish and you are in a tropical paradise for awhile.  Super Thickshakes all round and a bit of chatting on Skype soon saw us discussing dinner.

We decided to continue on towards Legian and go to Poco Loco.  A bit of a hike, but we made it.  Everybody was a bit hot and bothered but soon settled down once the cool drinks came around courtesy of the mini bar.

As always with Mexican food, we ordered much more than we could eat.  I’m tipping there will be a big sleep-in tomorrow and not much happening.  We may even get to do absolutely nothing!!!
