Our last night in Busselton was a bit eventful. There was thunder, there was lightning, maybe even a little bit of frightening, there was lots of wind and even more rain. I thought Noah was gonna knock on the door in search of a pair of feral children for the ark … but alas no.

It was still raining on pack up and blowing a gale. The piccy below of the ‘lake’, including resident ducks, is actually a piccy of the sports field. A huge amount of rain was dumped on poor Busselton and I expect that there’s still plenty heading Melbourne’s way in a few days.

The only casualty that we had due to the weather is wet mattresses.  Not sopping wet, but wet enough that they need to be dried right out when we’ve got the chance.

The Prado and Jayco handled the gusty winds pretty well.  It’s certainly more tiring driving while fighting the weather, but all went well.

Once we got to Perth I had to call and confirm the cars booking for tomorrow for a ‘tune up’ … hence today’s song … Slow Ride.  Tomorrow she gets a power and torque increase as well as a fuel saving … well … theoretically anyway.  I’ve also got another appointment with bureaucracy at 11am, so most of the day is going to go to waste.

I also managed to get a replacement rear view screen, but haven’t fitted it yet.  It should be a drop in replacement though.  We also finally found a suitable set of masks, snorkels and fins that actually fit all of us.  We’ve been looking for these for ages and ages, but they were nearly impossible to find in Melbourne … as its the middle of winter, obviously.  It’s winter here too, but we got lucky!  They’re going to be a must have for all the reef snorkeling in our near future!

Perth Vineyards Caravan Park is right next to a winery, hence the name.

From beside the van

We are being really spoilt thus far with the pick of the van sites.  Another ensuite site tonight, since we’re here for 3 nights.  Should be plenty of time to get everything sorted out before we heard North in earnest.
