Up at the leisurely time of 9am, we had bacon and egg sangas for breakfast.  It was then time to have a look around Airlie Beach and Shute Harbour.  It didn’t take much driving before we realised that we absolutely hated the place 😉

2 harbours, lovely houses, tons of useful shops, great atmosphere all round really.  Pity it’s so far from home.

Shame we’ve got to leave it tomorrow …

Yes, unfortunately we’ve got to leave Airlie Beach to take this 35 foot boat out for 3 nights.  We’ll be back with the van on Sunday.  It’s basically a caravan without wheels.  Toilet, shower, stove, bbq, sleeps 8, tv, dvd, radio, etc.

Most importantly, to those that know my history with boats, it has all the safety gear.  Especially maps showing all the shallow areas and a depth sounder alarm.  She’ll be right !!!!

The van goes into storage again tonight.  We’ve got to transfer all our food and especially beverages, along with clothes and gadgets onto the boat tonight and then we’ll stay aboard until leaving in the morning.

The kids have been in the pool most of the day, which is where I’ll be too once we get sorted.  Kel’s out doing the provisions shop and then she’ll be in the pool too!

So … this might be the last post for awhile.  I can’t see any Telstra towers floating out there.

SPOT will be coming with us so we can be tracked that way.
