No photos today … we just didn’t get much time to think about cameras.

The flight back from Bali was a quick 2 and a half hour event.  All very efficient and we all even managed to get a little nap, except Blake.  He got a huge nap … nearly from takeoff until landing.

Immigration and customs wasn’t too bad.  We had a bit of stuff to declare, but it was quickly sorted out.  Lots of people getting pinged for BB guns and laser pointers.

The van and car appeared as we left them and we did a record setup of 30 seconds.  Beds out … heads on pillows … 4:30am … seeya later.  We didn’t even bother to put the roof up.  Then the dogs were barking, a rooster was crowing, it was bloody hot and stuffy and at about 6am all the horsey folk started arriving to tend their horses directly behind the van. *sigh*  We did get some sleep but figured from the outset that we were never going to get much.

About 10am we all got up and made an effort to plan our day.  We’d been tossing around different ideas for ‘where to next’ while we were in Bali, but hadn’t reached any great decisions.  Bali made procrastination pretty easy.  The state of the car settled it for us though.  While we were in Bali the Darwin heat had extended the crack in the windscreen all the way across.  It had to be fixed … we weren’t going anywhere.

We could have stayed where we were, but the facilities were pretty basic.  No pool or anything to occupy the kids.  The van needed a big cleanout and sort out too.  We needed to do a big shop as well, since we have an empty fridge.  All this added up to going back to Freespirit again for another night (at least).

I was able to get a standard Prado windscreen put in for $295 … hopefully that will last us until we get back.  Kel managed to hide all the Bali purchases in the van – somewhere.  The kids were good until bedtime and watched some of their new movies and had a swim.  Kel & I even managed to get the huge shop done in peace.

So, now we’re ready to move again tomorrow … except we still haven’t decided what we’re going to do.  Anymore delay in Darwin starts to eat into other parts of the trip now.  We know we can’t see it all, but there’s some tough choices and rearranging to do … whatever we end up doing.
