Another touristy day today.  The rain bucketed down all night and was still going strong when we left this morning.  A couple of short stops in town and by the time we were on the main highway the rain had eased and we even had peeks of blue sky.

Our first stop was Gnomesville.  I’m pleased to report that the mystery has been solved.  The place that all stolen and orphan gnomes go must be gnomesville.  The place is chock full of them!

Gnomesville is an understatement … Gnome Megalopolis is closer to the truth.  There would be several thousand gnomes here, they go on forever.  There’s gnomads, geegnomes, geestringnomes and every other type of gnome imaginable.  Something new to see around every corner.

Next stop was Donnybrook, for lunch.  They’ve got the largest, free, adventure playground in the Southern Hemisphere here as well so there’s plenty of reasons to stop.

Blake excitedly said that he’d found a new ‘species’ of playground equipment … that turned out to be exercise equipment.  Too funny.  Everybody had a good play and a good feed before we headed off back to Busselton.

The Busselton Jetty is the longest wooden pier in the Southern Hemisphere.  At 1841 metres long I’m not going to argue.  There is a train that runs the length of it and also an underwater observatory … both were unavailable due to the weather.

We had great weather at Gnomesville and Donnybrook but it had again turned nasty once we hit Busselton.  Undaunted, we set off to walk the length of it anyway … ya just gotta, right?

She huffed and puffed and was blowing almost straight down the middle of the jetty at a ferocious speed, but we made it to the end unscathed.  On the way back, the wind blew Kel off her feet … it was pretty fierce and so was the wind.  No major harm done, except to pride, we retreated to the comfort of the van.

Despite the weather, the kids were determined to have a last swim in the pool and were in there until dinner.  Dinner was smoky, stuffed chops and since we only had 6 of them, supplemented that with a nice steak.

A quiet night in tonight, catching up on Top Gear.
